Getting to Wageningen

Flying to Amsterdam:

Getting to Wageningen from Amsterdam Schiphol airport is quite easy but you need to know the tips and tricks. 😉 As Wageningen doesn’t have its own train station the last part of the trip will be by bus. Don’t worry, there are a lot of buses going there.

At Schiphol you can go straight to the trains at Schiphol Plaza. If you don’t want to change trains take the train that goes to Arnhem Centraal. The stop you will need is called Ede-Wageningen.

Otherwise take any train going to Utrecht Central. Change there for a train going to Nijmegen and exit the train at Ede-Wageningen station.

Getting the bus to Wageningen:

From Ede-Wageningen train station, buses 103, 303 and 86 will take you to Wageningen bus station. The venue is a five-minute walk from the bus station.

The entire journey from Schiphol to the venue takes less than 2 hours.

By Eurostar train from London or Paris:

Take the Eurostar to Rotterdam Centraal. From there take the train to Utrecht Centraal, and proceed as above.

By train from Germany:

The nearest international train station is Arnhem Centraal. From there you can get bus 352 to Wageningen bus station. It takes about half an hour.

Paying for public transport: You can pay with your debit or credit card in the bus and train. For both: place your card on the card reader when you arrive at the station or get on the bus and when you leave. You can’t reserve a seat or buy a ticket for a specific train.

Useful public transport apps:

 NS (trains)

9292 (all public transport)

By car: There is paid parking throughout the city centre. Cheapest would be buying a day ticket. Paid parking hours are:Monday to Thursday: 9.00-18.00 Friday: 9.00-21.00 Saturday: 9.00-17.00All day Sunday and Saturday evening: free parking. Please note: Raadhuisplein has different hours, and no parking at all on Friday night and Saturday, due to the weekly market.

If you take a direct train from Schiphol/Amsterdam Centraal to Ede-Wageningen, is the bus fare from Ede-Wageningen station to Wageningen included in the train ticket price, or should a separate bus ticket be bought?
